Your dishes need to be cleaned proper to avoid food poisoning or your food going bad fast. Many people don’t know how to do dishes properly and that can be a problem when you first move out. Even with a dish washer there are some dishes that can’t go in the dish washer and others need to be cleaned by hand. Here are basic instructions for dish washing.
You will need dish soap, a dish towel, a wash cloth, a scrubbing pad, sos scrubing pad, a drying tray and rubber gloves. Disposable dish cloths are recommended because you don’t have to wait to wash them. Dish clothes aren’t always effective cleaned in the laundry and can start to smell.
I also don’t recommend sponges because they can easily carry loads of bacteria. If you use it more than once you are washing dishes was a bacteria filled tool. Rubber gloves are recommended to protect your nails and prevent dry hands but they aren’t always necessary.
Start by washing the sink with a sos scrubbing pad. A regular scouring pad and vim work fine as well. Remember to clean the both sides of the sink stoppers as well. Rinse the sink and fill one side with water. Add a few drops of dish soap while the water is running. Place the drying tray in the other sink. Some drying trays you can place on the counter.
Start by cleaning glass and crystal utensils. Place these items in the water to allow some of the food to dissolve. While the dishes are soaking, use the dish cloth to wipe counter tops, stove tops and tables. Remove the food and stains from the dishes with the dish cloth. For stuck on food soak the dish and use the scouring pad to scrub away the food.
Rinse the dish and place it in the drying rack to air dry. You can also dry the dishes by hand using a dish towel.
